The Transport.exe Application is a Monge Kantorovich Transportation Problem Solver (i.e. Minimises the Transportation of a Number of Source Objects (e.g. Lorries) to Destination Demands by (Costed) Routes) suitable for the IBM PC Windows 98/ME/2000/NT/XP/Vista environment.
After having downloaded and unzipped the Transport.exe Application, extract the application to a suitable folder on your hard disc. Double click on the Transport.exe file icon to bring up the dialogue panel.
Alternatively, create a short-cut icon on your main Desktop display, that points to the Transport.exe file and double click on that icon to obtain the dialogue panel.
On getting the Dialogue Panel on the screen, first use the Vertical and Horizontal Check Boxes, to set up the size of the Transportation Problem i.e. Number of Sources and Number of Destinations.
Type 1) The Number of Objects at each Source (Vertical), 2) The Demand for Objects at each Destination (Horizontal), 3) The Array of 'Costs' of Transportation between each Source and Destination, into the writable slots on the dialogue panel and then click on the 'Cycle' icon. Transport.exe then returns an initial allocation of Objects by selected Routes in the appropriate slots.
Successively Clicking 'Cycle' returns further Optimised Solutions, until a message is produced that indicates that the absolute optimum has been reached.
Read the 'Usage.txt' file present in the zipped file for more information on the different versions available, and the copying and running of them.
There is more info on usage of Transport.exe in the file 'ReadMe1st.txt', also present in the zipped file.
